Muy pronto en español… The MFT September Release Countdown is midway and I’m back to share an interactive light-up Christmas card for Day 3.

I had so much fun using the EZ-Lights last time, that I just had to create another light-up card. Let’s check it out in action, before I go into more detail.

I love the fact that the lights of the tree look different although I used the same red vellum for all of them. I guess it depends on how far away they are from the led lights…

Elements used for the light-up Christmas card

After stamping the images from the Joyous Holidays set on my panel, I cut a mask out of masking paper, with one of the dies from the Snowy Scene Builder Die-namics. Next, I used the new Micro Cloud Edges Stencil and some Blu Raspberry Premium Dye Ink to create the background.

I used an awl and a long reach hole punch, to punch holes in the Christmas tree and the reindeer’s nose. I also cut out a little square for the button of the EZ-Light unit and stamped the word «press» from the Interactive Labels set, underneath it. In the above picture you can see all of the elements that I used for my light-up card.

Here I’ve already adhered the red vellum, some black tape and the EZ-Light unit with its three led lights, to the back of my 4 1/8″ x 5 1/2″ (10,5cm x 14cm) panel. The black tape acts as a mask, so that the light won’t shine through the white panel and spoil the effect.

Lastly I added a sentiment banner, die cut with one of the dies from the Skinny Strips Die-namics, and a couple of birds, also from the Joyous Holidays stamp set. That’s it from me for today. I invite you to head on to the MFT Blog for more inspiration from the DT. Thanks for your visit! ^_^
