¡Muy pronto en español! After a brief countdown, the Merry & Bright Card Kit is now available in the MFT store! I’m celebrating with two Christmas cards filled with colorful light bulbs.

I got carried away die cutting and assembling them and since you can never have enough Christmas cards, I decided to make two similar ones for today. For the first one, I went with a slimline panel die cut with the Slimline Starter Die-namics.

First, I heat embossed the beautiful sentiment (from the Merry & Bright stamp set) in silver, in the right lower corner of my panel. Next, I sewed a silver string to it, with a heart shaped loop in the middle. I did the same three weeks ago, for THIS cute space card. After that, I glued the panel to an 8 1/2″ x 7″ (21,7cm x 17,8cm) Ripe Raspberry cardbase.

I also adhered a little heat embossed banner, die cut with the Skinny Strips Die-namics, above the sentiment…  As a last step, I added quite a few matching enamel dots to finish the card.

The second card is more of an experiment…  I played with the shape of the light bulbs for a while and ended up adhering the electrical feet to a vellum circle, with a previously embossed sentiment. Next, I glued the resulting wreath to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Smooth White Card Stock, slightly offset.

After that, I trimmed part of the light bulb wreath that was hanging over the side of the panel, with a pair of scissors. Finally I adhered the panel to an A2 side-fold Ripe Raspberry cardbase and added some matching enamel dots.
