A card with a camera and glitter based on a sketch

¡Hola tod@s!
Hello everybody! Today I’m showing you a card that I made for two combined challenges…
challenge number 56 at 3flowers, whose key words this time are: camera + glitter
…and the February challenge at Seven Hills Crafts, a UK store that sells american scrapbook material and that I just discovered thanks to my scrappy friend Eva. This month they want us to follow this sketch:
Going through my stash, I found a paper from Dear Lizzy’s “Serendipity” collection with a camera pattern. I also remembered a set of Sizzix dies that cut this retro camera:

At first glance, there’s nothing special about this die cut camera, but after trying out different colours and adding details in silver and glitter (for the flash), I ended up liking it a lot. I’m sure I’ll use it again.

I even added a piece of thick matte acetate and an enamel heart for the lens, to give it a touch of another colour.
In this side view you can see all of the layers of my card. The base is covered by wood-patterned cardstock from a collection called “Necessities” (Wood) by MME. I made the striped panel with silver-coloured glitter washitape, next is the before-mentioned camera paper and a frame cut with Lawn Fawn’s largest stiched rectangle frame and one of LPE’s “romantic frames” out of Avery Elle’s aquamarine cardstock, which I also used for the camera.

Finally we have the die-cut “hello”, for which I used a die by Simon Says Stamp and several layers of kraft cardstock, to make it look like a wood veneer. For the last layer I used the same paper as for the card base.

For the last touch, I embellished the card with three screw-like brads. I didn’t add any string, like in the sketch, because I thought it would be too much. I like this unisex card… can’t masculine cards have a bit of glitter as well? I think they can, especially if it’s as discreet as this washi tape is. What do you think? See you soon!
