Howdy, I’m back with a couple of sweet watermelon themed projects for Day 3 of the May Release Countdown. Watermelon is one of my favorite fruits and a perfect protagonist for a summer themed card.
I started by playing with some red and green Distress Inks, lot’s of water and watercolor paper. Once the paper was dry, I die cut a panel using the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics.

Next I used the Watermelon Slice Die-namics and some Red Hot, Sour Apple, Black Licorice and Whip Cream card stock to diecut the larger triangular slice. For the sentiment I used the Sweet Die-namics, one of the phrases from the Sweet Sentiments stamp set and one of the banners from the Skinny Strips Die-namics.
As a last touch, I added a bunch of drops of Glossy Accents. They are perfect to portray a sense of freshness, like in my recent Birthday card with soda pops.

As a little bonus project, I created a cute watermelon key chain with the semicircular slice from the Watermelon Slice Die-namics and some thin leather scraps that I had in my stash. A nice little gift that fits perfectly inside a bag, cut with the Paper Bag Treat Box Die-namics.
Lastly, as always, I invite you to head on to the MFT blog and leave a comment for a chance to win a 50$ voucher to the online store. Thanks for your visit!
