Hello! It’s time for the last post before the July Release Countdown begins and I’ve made a spinner slider whale card with one of the dies from the featured product, Leaping Slider Channels Die-namics.
Today only, you can enjoy 40% off this versatile die set, which allows you to create a fun and easy interactive element on your card!

I started by die cutting the rainbow using the Stitched Rainbow Die-namics set and five different colors of card stock; Red Hot, Orange Zest, Pineapple Prestige, Sour Apple, Summer Splash and Wild Wisteria. I also ran the die through my machine with two pieces of Smooth White Cardstock on top of each other. Then I used the second piece, that only had an impression of the rainbow, as a base to glue the color strips to.

After that, I diecut a panel out of Summer Splash Card Stock and used one of the dies from the Leaping Slider Channels Die-namics to die cut a curved channel that I could hide under the rainbow.

I also die cut a strip of water with the wave die from the Pop-Up Wiper Card Components Die-namics and embossed a sentiment from the Friends with Fins stamp set on it.

The whale is also from the before mentioned set. I colored it with Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils and die cut it using the matching die. I then glued it to a strip of acetate and the acetate to a slider element. I inserted it in the channel and sandwiched it between two stacks of circles. I ended up adding a couple of slider elements to the sides of the channel to limit the range of motion of the whale.

Although the gif gives you an idea of the effect, it’s better to watch a video clip of the card, where you can see that the whale doesn’t really move until you tilt the card…
BTW, did you see my last interactive card? It’s also ocean themed… LOL! ^_^ Don’t forget to check ot what my talented teammates created with the Leaping Slider Channels Die-namics. Have a nice day!
