Howdy! The month of October has flown by and it’s time for the Hits & Highlights feature at the MFT Blog. I created a fun and simple interactive dancing Santa card mixing older products with new ones from the October release, which is exactly what the DT was challenged to do.
I’m not going to go into too much detail. If you’re interested in the mechanism, check out THIS blogpost with my dancing girl card. It’s basically the same. I just didn’t hide the pull tab, die cut with one of the dies from the Launch Party Die-namics, this time. Also, for the mechanism, I used the largest and medium sized connector elements from the Meet in the Middle Interactive Die-namics.
When you move the pull tab up and down, Santa sways his hips from side to side in a smooth dance. Check out the animated gif below!
To create this card, I had to do some partial stamping of one of the characters from the fun Sassy Santa stamp set. As you can see, I widened the upper part of his suit and made his pants a little more highwasted:
I kept the design and color scheme really simple and used the awesome Ho Ho Ho Background stamp and Wild Cherry Premium Dye Ink to do some tone on tone stamping. HERE’s a recent card for which I used the same technique.
I heat embossed the sentiment, also from the Sassy Santa set, on a piece of Licorice Black Card Stock and diecut it with one of the banners from Blueprints 33 Die-namics. As a last touch, I added some enamel shapes and that’s it.
