Hi again! There are only a couple of days left until the My Favorite Things February Release goes live and I’m back with a card featuring the Happy Happy Happy Birthday stamp set, along with other fabulous new products .

I started by stamping the cute elephant, from the Birthday Buds stamp set, with a light ink and doing some no-line coloring with Copic markers (C3, C2, C1, C00, R24, R22, R20) and Prismacolor pencils.

Then I diecut some of the pieces from the Mini Cupcake Maker Die-namics in Smooth White, Kraft, Coral Crush and Ripe Raspberry Prestige card stock and assembled the cupcake. I added some shading and details with R22, R20, C1, Y15 and Y11.

Next, I stamped the Happy Happy Happy Birthday in Peach Bellini Premium Dye Ink on a panel die cut with the banner from the Hip, Hip, Hooray Die-namics. I couldn’t fit the beautiful hand-drawn “Birthday” and the elephant and cupcake, so I added a small banner with a heat embossed sentiment from the Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set, instead.

I really wanted to add a patterned paper from the Birthday Brights Paper Pack behind the panel, but the colors didn’t match that well, so I grabbed some Sweeth Tooth Pigment Ink and a blending brush and went to work on this pretty orange design…

…turning it into a more discreet coral color, which went perfectly with the rest of the elements of the card.

Finally, I assembled everything on an A2 cardbase and added some matching enamel dots. The result is a very sweet card, that would be perfect for a baby’s first Birthday. Head on to the MFT Blog for more inspiration and to find out how you can win a $75 gift card to the MFT Shop. Until tomorrow!
