Card with heart-shaped window for MFT February

Hi there I’m back with a Birthday card featuring a heart-shaped window, for the February Birthday Project Challenge at the MFT Blog.

This month we’re asked to create a Birthday project featuring hearts… isn’t that fun? I immediately thought of the super cute girl from the Sweet Birthday Wishes stamp set, who reminds me of my daughter.

I diecut, stamped and colored her with the following Copic markers:

  • RV34, RV32, RV11, G43 and G40 for the dress, shoes and bow
  • E51, E50, E37, E35, E33, G43 and G40 for the cupcake
  • E000, Yr01, Yr000, E21, E11 and E02 for the skin
  • E37, E35, E33 and E31 for the hair

Then I used the largest die from the Stitched Heart STAX Die-namics to cut a heart-shaped window in my 5″ x 10″ cardbase. Next, I adhered a piece of patterned paper from the Birthday Brights Paper Pack, to the inside.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed a simple “Happy Birthday” from the Bitty Birthday Wishes in gold, on a banner of Heavy Weight Vellum. I also die cut the word “Sweetie” from the Sweet as a Pie Die-namics in Gold Shine Card Stock. I  had to move the “S” a little bit so that it would fit…

I hope that you liked my second card for today. HERE’s the link to the first one, in case you missed it. Join us at the MFT Blog and play along for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique. Have a great day! ^_^
