Butterfly bunting for May MFT & Friends

Butterfly banner for May MFT & Friends.

Yay, it’s time for the monthly MFT & Friends feature, which means that the whole release is now available in the MFT Store!  For today I created a butterfly bunting with the beautiful Brilliant Butterflies stamps and matching Die-namics dies.

Last Saturday, for Day 3 of the MFT May Release Countdown, I made THIS card with the same butterflies. I got so carried away experimenting with the inks, embossing and different color card stock, that I made over 20 butterflies!

However, for my bunting, I ended up choosing the ones with the following Premium Dye Ink – Card Stock combinations:

For the delicate lace overlay, I chose platinum embossing (doesn’t it look elegant?), but white embossing or even regular black ink, looks just as great!

I didn’t do anything fancy to string my butterflies… I just added three small glue dots; one to the middle and one to the back of each wing. Once the waxed string was in place, I covered the glue dots with some clear tape.

Actually, instead of one long bunting, I made three shorter ones with six butterflies each… If needed, I can just peel off the tape on the back and put them together.

I love creating banners and buntings… they are great for party decor or to spruce up any room. My 12-year old asked to have one for her bedroom and I’ll use the other two to decorate my craft room.

OK, that’s it from me for today. Head on to the MFT Blog to see what our guests and rest of the DT has created! Happy shopping and have a great day!
