Masculine Birthday card for CC141

Masculine Birthday card for CC141.

The combo for this week’s Color Challenge (CC141) is quite masculine and I needed a masculine Birthday card, so that’s exactly what I made.

I die cut the word “hugs” from the Huge Hugs Die-namics out of some gray patterned paper from the Woodgrain Whimsy Paper Pad. I then diecut the letters three times out of heavy weight Steel Grey Card Stock and stacked them to create my own “thickers” (thick stickers).

I adhered them to my panel of Smooth White Card Stock (die cut with the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangel STAX Set 1 Die-namics) leaving enough room for one of the gnomes from the BB Hanging with My Gnomies set to the left.  I stamped him, the worm and a flower with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and die cut them with the matching dies.

I used the following Copic markers to color them: B06, B04, B02, B01, Y17, Y15, Y13, G43, G40, RV32, RV11, E000, E21, E11, R20, C5, C4, C3 and C2.

The sentiment “For the Birthday boy” is from the Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set, which is an absolute  must-have! I heat embossed it in white on a banner, die cut with one of the dies from the Skinny Strips Die-namics.

As a last touch I added some light yellow enamel dots and a card base cut out of Lemon Chiffon Card Stock, thus using all four colors from this week’s Color Challenge 141 palette:

Well, actually the light grey is more like the MFT Cement Gray Card Stock, but close enough. You don’t have to use all four colors to participate, but we do ask you to be inspired by them, to create any kind of project…  Find out more on the MFT Blog. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!
