Hiya! Time flies when your having fun and we’re already halfway through the MFT June Release Countdown! Today I’m sharing a one layer card featuring stamps from the Best Fins and Sunny Vibes sets.
Actually, I’m not sure if it is a one layer card, since I didn’t work directly on the cardbase (and I added a little banner), but close enough… I had a lot of fun stamping all of the critters and elements to create my beach scene!
After stamping and masking everything, I went in with some Broken China Distress Oxide ink and the Ocean Motion Stencil, to create the waves. I love the bright summer colors; Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber, that I used for the sky!
For the sand, I blended Fossilized Amber with Walnut Stain. I spritzed some water on the 4 1/8″ x 6 1/2″ panel and after it dried, I peeled off the masks and colored everything with Copic markers.
As always, I added the final details and shading with sharp Prismacolor pencils and a white gel pen. I also applied a little bit of Glossy Accents to all of the eyes and to the rims of the sunglasses.
I don’t like stamping on top of the Distress Oxide inks, so I added the sentiment with a heat embossed banner, die cut with one of the dies from the Skinny Strips Die-namics and that’s it. I hope you enjoyed today’s card! I can’t wait to see what my talented teammates have created.
