Card with sweet ghoul for Day 4

Halloween card with ghoul for Day 4 of the MFT August Release Countdown.

The MFT August Release Countdown continues and for Day 4 I made a Halloween card with a sweet, non scary ghoul.

I wasn’t quite sure about the meaning of the word “ghoul” and when I looked it up, I freaked out a little bit… but the ghost from the Hey, Ghoul Die-namics, is anything but scary.

I started by doing some ink blending on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ (10,2cm x 13,3cm) panel of white card stock with the following Distress Oxide Inks; Faded Jeans, Vilted Violet, Seedless Preserves and Victorian Velvet. Then I added some water droplets for texture and a spray of Mica for shimmer.

Then I used the gorgeous Lots of Leaves Cover-Up Die-namics to die cut a frame out of Black Licorice Card Stock backed with Stick-It adhesive. That way it was really easy to adhere to my panel. I could have used foam squares instead to give it some dimension, but I wanted the focus to be on the ghoul.

Before continuing, I stamped the sentiment from the Ghostly Greetings set, first with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and then with Versamark ink, to do some clear embossing on it. Next, I diecut the ghoul out of Heavyweight Translucent Vellum. I hid two layers of gluedots behind the eyes, mouth and heart (which I die cut with one of the dies from the LLD Bundle of Baby Clothes Die-namics) to pop it up.

I was going to add some Glossy Accents to the heart, but forgot all about it and moved on to the fun photo session… I hope you’re not too scared of spiders and human skulls, buahahaaa!

OK, that’s it for today. Don’t forget to stop by the MFT Blog for more inspiration from the DT.
