Yay, we’re down to the last Countdown Day before the August Release goes live and I’m stopping by with a clean and simple card with a slice of gooey Halloween cake.
The sentiment and piece of Halloween cake
I wanted to use one of the sentiments from the Sassy Pants Spooctacular stamp set and I thought that the “Happy Boo-Day” would go perfectly with a piece of fun Halloween cake, cut with dies from the Piece of Cake Die-namics. Before going with the Smooth White, Grape Jelly and Kraft card stock combo, I tried a bunch of other ones.
The striped background
I don’t know if you can tell from the pictures, but the striped background is actually silver heat embossing, created with the Lined by Hand Background, on Black Licorice Prestige Card Stock. So that it wouldn’t be overwhelming, I added a white 3.75″ x 5.5″ (9,5cm x 14cm) panel with a round hole, cut with one of the dies from the A2 Circle STAX Die-namics, on top of it.
That’s it for today! Please visit the MFT Blog, to be linked to the spooktacular projects that my amazing teammates have created for your inspiration! While you’re there, remember to leave a comment for a chance to win a $75 Gift Voucher to the MFT Store. One winner will be chosen for each day of the Countdown!
