Adventure themed card for August MFT & Friends

CAS adventure themed card for August MFT & Friends.

The MFT August Release is finally here and I’m celebrating with a cute adventure themed card featuring many of the new products.

The idea behind the card

Remember my card for Day 5 with one of the characters from the BB Old Friends stamp set that reminded me of my dad… Well one of the kids from the BB Adorable Adventures stamp set, totally reminded me of my (soon to be) 9 year old son.

These two leos get along so well and they love to go for long walks together, so I thought I’d pair them up in a fun card. Dad is in good shape and doesn’t use a cane, so let’s imagine it’s a hiking stick…

Copic markers used for adventure themed card

The first thing that I did was to stamp, diecut and color these wonderful images. I used the following Copic markers; E11, E21, E00, R20, E37, E35, E33, W3, W1, W00, Y15, Y13, BG13, BG11,  R37, R35, C5, C4 and C3.

Creation of the ink blended scene

Next, I stamped the wooden sign post on my A2 cardbase of Copic friendly cardbase. I fussy cut a mask and covered it. I also created a stencil out of masking paper using the 3″ die from the A2 Circle STAX Die-namics. To die cut my final mask, I used one of the dies from the Slimline Grassy Hills Die-namics.

Once I was done, I used all of my masks, the Rolling Clouds Stencil and three Premium Dye Inks (Berrylicious, Gumdrop Green and Sour Apple) to create my little circle of landscape.

The final details

Finally, I stamped the fun sentiment from the BB Old Friends stamp set in Extreme Black Hybrid Ink, on the lower edge of my cardbase and popped up the characters with thin foam squares. Voilá, my clean and simple adventure themed card was done! I hope you enjoyed the August Release Countdown as much as I did!
