Card with autumn leaves for October Vault Countdown Day 1

Card with autumn leaves for My Favorite Things.

Hello! I’m joining the October Vault Release Countdown on the last day, with a card featuring realistic autumn leaves, die cut with the gorgeous Falling Leaves Die-namics.

I started by doing some ink smooshing on a couple of pieces of white card stock, with the following Distress Inks; Rusty Hinge, Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Brushed Corduroy, Crushed Olive, Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters and Bundled Sage. Once the card stock was dry, I used the before-mentioned die, to die cut a bunch of beautiful autumn leaves.

Next, I inked up the dies themselves and pressed the leaves back in, to add some color to the veins. It really made a difference! Lastly, I used a ball point stylus, to give the leaves some shape.

The following step was to use the Woodplank Background stamp, some Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and Milk Chocolate Prestige Card Stock, to create the main panel. I also heat embossed one of the sentiments from the Autumn Blessings stamp set on it, before assembling the card.

The dark panel really makes the autumn leaves pop, but I needed to add some light, which I did with a second panel of copper card stock. I adhered both of them to a card base of Black Licorice Prestige Card Stock. Lastly I added the leaves (the hardest part, LOL) and some green crystals to finish the card.

OK. That’s it for today. I hope you check out more projects, created with today’s featured products, on the MFT Blog. If you’re interested, HERE you can see another recent card with stamped autumn leaves. Thanks for stopping by!
