Hello again! I’m back to share a slimline card with stacked critters for Day 1 of the MFT February Card Kit Release Countdown.
I started by die cutting a panel out of Copic friendly card stock with the rectangular die from the Slimline Starter Die-namics. Then I stacked all of the critters from the Weather with You stamp set with the help of some masking paper.
I kept the masks on while I did some ink blending… For the sky I used the Micro Cloud Edges Stencil and the following Premium Dye Inks; Fire Coral, Candied Jams, Butterscotch, Sour Apple and Caribbean Sea. For the ground I went with the Grassy Edges Stencil and Field Day Premium Dye Ink.
Next, I carefully peeled off the masks and went to work on my coloring. I used the following Copic markers:
- Sun: Y17, Y15, Y13
- Umbrella: R24, R22, YR68, YR65, Y17, Y15, G14, G12, B02, B01
- Panda: W7, W5, W3, W1
- Bear: E55, E53, E51, G14, G12, R24
- Bunny: W3, W1, W00, R00
- Koala: W7, W5, W3, W1, R20
As always, I added the details with Prismacolor pencils. This time I also drew some texture with a black pigment liner which is something that I used to do years ago, when drawing was my passion.
I of course added Glossy Accents as well. It totally makes the critters come alive!
Lastly I added matching enamel dots and a little strip with the perfect heat embossed sentiment. I die cut it out of Black Licorice Prestige Card Stock with one of the dies from the Skinny Strips Die-namics.
