CAS unicorn card for WSC531

CAS unicorn card for WSC531.

Howdy! I’m back with a clean and simple card for WSC531 at the MFT Blog. It features the cute unicorns from the Friendly Unicorns stamp set.

This week’s sketch is quite easy, but I must admit that I struggled a little bit with the two rectangles…

That’s why I started with the stripe, which I knew had to be rainbow themed. After going through my stash, I decided to use the straw from the Café All Day Die-namics to die cut thin strips out of the following colors of card stock; Red Hot, Orange Zest, Butterscotch, Sour Apple, Summer Splash and Grape Jelly.

With the help of a T-ruler, I carefully adhered them to an A2 top fold white card base. Next, I stamped the sentiment also from the Friendly Unicorns set on the lower edge.

After that I went to work on the 1 7/8″ x 2 13/16″ rectangles, which I cut with my paper trimmer out of Copic friendly card stock.

I stamped two of the unicorns on them and quickly colored them with Copic markers. This time I didn’t even add details with my Prismacolor pencils, like in yesterday’s card. That’s because I wasted almost three hours doing some textured no-line coloring for my first idea, which was to make two unicorn “paintings” with golden frames. The card looked too busy so I decided to simplify.

As a last touch I added some stars die cut out Red Hot,Summer SplashGrape Jelly and Gold Shimmer card stock with the Star Pops Die-namics. That’s it from me for today. I hope you participate in WSC531… you could win a $50 shopping spree to the MFT Boutique!
