Card with silk screen look for Day 1

Card with silk screen look for Day 1 of the MFT March Card Kit Release Countdown.

Hi there! I’m back to share a card with a silk screen look that I created for Day 1 of the MFT March Card Kit Release Countdown.

It features a personalized sentiment created with the Bitty Banner Alphabet Die-namics and a cute black kitty from the Housecats stamp set. Surrounded by greenery, it clearly sees itself as an elegant and lethal panther in the jungle, LOL.

When I use mainly die cuts for a card, I think it looks better with an image featuring no-line coloring. I was feeling lazy, so I stamped the cat with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and just colored it black. However, I had to draw a new pair of eyes so that they would be visible. I also covered the nose with Glossy Acents, before coloring the image with my Copic markers (Y15, y13, w10 and W7).

The plants were so fun to assemble. I die cut them with the Houseplants Die-namics out of five different colors of card stock. I also used some left over perches from YESTERDAY’S CARD, die cut with our Free with $60 product: Cat & Plant Perches Die-namics. They definitely add to the overall silk screen look…

As I mentioned in the beginning of the post, I die cut my own sentiment. It was actually going to be “Beast friends furever” but it was too long for my smaller than A2 card base. I used the newly acquired Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frames Die-namics to die cut my panel and frame out of Smooth White and Caribbean Sea Prestige card stock. Your definitely going to see this scallop edge frame in future projects! It adds such a sweet touch.

There’s not much more to tell you… The uppper edge was looking a little too empty, so I added a speech bubble with the word “hello” from the BB Cat-astrophe stamp set.

That’s it for today. Be sure to check out the featured projects at the MFT Blog and come back tomorrow for the MFT March Card Kit Release!
