Howdy! I’m back with a hilarious interactive card featuring a flying pig for Day 3 of the MFT June Vault Release Countdown.
When we pull on the tab, the pig flies across the card while the cow almost breaks its neck folowing him with her eyes! Check out the effect in the animated gif below:
To create the mechanism, I used dies from the Meet in the Middle Interactive Die-namics, one of the dies from the Spin & Slide Channels Die-namics and two sets of thin magnetic snaps by Basic Grey. In THIS blog post with a similar card, I explain the mechanism a little bit better. Also, in my last video tutorial, I linked the nodding man’s head to the pull tab in the same way as I did with the cow’s head here.
If you don’t have magnets, you could adhere one part of a Slider Element to the pull tab (through the groove) and the other one to an acetate strip. Then you’d adhere the pig to the other end of the strip. LOL, it sounds more complicated than it is… I might have to film a tutorial for you gals!
For added texture, I splattered diluted Cement Gray Premium Dye Ink on the clouds and the following inks on the grass: Jalapeño Popper, Field Day and Limelight. To finish the card I added some small flowers die cut with the Spring Garden Die-namics.
That’s it for today! I hope you enjoyed my interactive card. I’ll be back on Release Day with more Birdie Brown goodness!
