Card with moonlit forest scene for Day 1

Card with moonlit forest scene for Day 1 of the MFT November Release Countdown.

Yay, we’re down to the last day before the MFT November Release and I’m sharing a card with a moonlit forest scene, created with today’s featured products, that I hope you’ll like.

I started by stamping the girl from the PI Winter Kisses and two of the fawns from the So Very Fawned of You stamp sets, on an A2 panel of Copic friendly card stock. Then I covered the images with masking paper. I also die cut a couple of masks with the Snowy Scene Builder Die-namics and the smallest die from the A2 Circle STAX Die-namics (for the moon).

After adhering all of the masks, I did some ink blending on the background with the following Distress Inks; Chipped Saphire, Broken China, Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass.

Once it was completely dry, I stamped a couple of the trees and one of the sentiments from the Wonderful Woods, with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink. Next, I carefully peeled off the masks and went to work on my coloring…

I’m not great at coloring shadows, so I googled moonlit forest scene and tried to recreate some of the colors and shapes that I saw. My brown markers are in desperate need of new tips and refills, so I had to finish coloring the fawns with Prismacolor pencils. I usually only use them for the smallest details, but the truth is that they add some nice texture.

Speaking of texture… as a last touch, I added some “Fresh Snowfall” Nuvo Glitter Accents to the snow and drops of Glossy Accents to the eyes and noses. I also added silver stars, die cut with the Starry Night — Horizontal Die-namics, because I was afraid of ruining the moonlit forest scene with white paint splatter. Thank you so much for stopping by! See you tomorrow!
