Hello! I played with the BB Picture Perfect stamp set to make a fun jungle themed card for the MFT Tips & Tricks feature of this month.
I love stretching my stamps and dies, and I knew that Birdie Brown’s Picture Perfect stamp set had some real potential for this. So I had the idea to do some partial stamping to “free” one of the apes and one of the cats from their squares and put them in a more natural environment…
OK, I agree… a jungle might not be the natural environment of a house cat… but don’t they make a fun couple?
So I put some washitape on 3 of the 4 sides of the square, inked the stamp, peeled off the tape and stamped the image…
Then I grabbed a pencil and finished drawing the ear, arm and chest.
Next I used a fine tip pigment ink pen to draw those parts, I colored the image and fussy cut it.
I also stamped the ape’s hand once more and cut out just the fingers so that it would look like he was holding the frame.
The cat was even easier to partially stamp and complete. At first I was going to put it in a separate card, but then I thought the two animals would look fun together.
I first glued them to the Polaroid Shaker Frame and then I attached it to my 4 1/4″ x 11″ cardbase with a couple of foam squares. Next I just diecut a bunch of leaves from the Wild Greenery Die-namics set in different greens and started gluing them behind the frame. And that’s it for today. I hope you found this post useful. I’ll be back soon!
