Hi there! We’ve got another Wednesday Sketch Challenge (WSC544) at the MFT Blog for you today. This time I created a space slimline card with one of the adorable astronauts from the BB Space Explorer stamp set.

I followed the sketch quite closely… substituting one of the circles with the astronaut’s head and another smaller circle with an enamel star. I also lowered the Translucent Vellum sentiment banner so that it wouldn’t cover the main character.

Once the background was dry, I used the rectangular die from the Slimline Starter Die-namics set, to do some partial die cutting and create my 3 1/4″ x 7 1/4″ (8,2cm x 18,9cm) panel.

To create the orange planet (March?) I used the Wave Maker Stencil and the following Premium Dye Inks: Moroccan Spice, Fire Coral, Candied Yam and Orange Zest. For the blue planet I went with the Perfect Pool Water Stencil, as well as the Caribbean Sea and Sno Cone Premium Dye Inks. I adhered them to the panel with Scotch foam tape.

To add some detail to the moon, I used Sno Cone and Cement Gray Premium Dye Inks and a small ink blending brush.

Finally, I stamped, fussy cut and colored the astronaut with the following Copic markers: B97, B95, B93, B91, BG13, BG11, W7, C3, C2, C00, R29, R27, R24, R22, R20, E59, E37, E35, E33, E31, E04, E11, E21 and E000.
That’s it for today! I hope you enjoyed my card and feel inspired to participate in WSC544. You could be the lucky winner of a $50 gift voucher!
