Jeans pocket card for MFT’s WSC 438

Jeans pocket card for WSC 438 at My Favorite Things.

Hi there,

I was recently inspired by MFT’s Weekly Sketch Challenge number 438 to create a clean and simple jeans pocket card for a teenage boy.

The hexagon shape of the largest dies from the Blueprints 33 Die-namics, reminded me of the stitching that you can find on the back pockets of a pair of jeans. I also thought it was a great place to insert a gift card or some money… Cause if it’s difficult to make a card for a teenager, it’s even harder to try to come up with a good gift for them. 😉

I started by inking a piece of Smooth White Card Stock with Chipped Saphire and Broken China Distress Ink. Then I took a piece of damp canvas fabric and pressed it against the panel for a few seconds. To get the bleached look, I just added some drops of water with a splatter brush.

For the sentiment, I cut a banner out of Kraft Card Stock using one of the dies from the Skinny Strips Die-namics. Then I stamped one of the sentiments from the set Greetings & Salutations with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with red embossing powder. To complete the look, I added a couple of copper colored brads.
