Hi again! It’s 3 days until the My Favorite Things September release and I’m definitely on a roll because I’m back with another interactive card. It’s a magnetic slider which features Satecy Yakula’s Piles of Fun stamp set.
When you pull on the panel, the leaves from the trees “fall” on top of the critters and the sentiment is revealed. A couple of years ago, I made THIS card with the same idea, but with a sheet of acetate. This time I went with a magnetic slider mecanism instead. Let’s see it in action:
If you’ve never made this type of card before, HERE’s a tutorial that I made for my personal YouTube channel a while ago. Unfortunately it’s only available in Spanish, but it’s not a complicated card to make and I’m sure you’ll get it. All you need for the mechanism is a couple of thin magnetic snaps and some cellophane.
I started by stamping the critters and sentiment (which I clear embossed) on some white Copic friendly card stock. Then I fussy cut some masks out of masking paper to cover the animals. Next I inked the background with the following Distress Inks; Tumbled Glass and Broken China for the sky and Brushed Corduroy, Bundled Sage and Shabby Shutters for the grass.
I actually made my own stencil for the grass using the grass edge die from the Pop-Up Wiper Card Components.
I also adhered a couple of branches, that I die-cut out of Milk Chocolate Prestige Card Stock using the Tree Branch Die-namics, to the card panel. And thus concludes today’s Countdown post… I hope you’re having as much fun as I am! Don’t forget to visit the MFT Blog for more information and inspiration! Byeeeeee!
