Bear Hug Bunch for Day 1

Bear bunch card for Day 1 of the MFT December Release Countdown.

Hi again! We’re down to the last countdown day before the MFT December Release goes live and I’m sharing a card with a cute little scene featuring the critters from the whimsical Bear Hug Bunch stamp set.

There’s nothing fancy about this card… I started by partially stamping just the bear’s left arm (rotating it upwards), because I wanted him to be reaching for a star. Then I did some simple stamping and masking to create the pile of critters.

Simple card with a bear, fox, owl and moose.

Once all of them were masked, I was able to ink the background with four colors of Distress Ink (Black Soot, Chipped Saphire, Broken China and Tumbled Glass). Next, to get a distressed look, I spritzed some water on it. Once the panel was dry again, I die cut it with the second largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics.

I actually messed up the masking on the antlers of the moose, but instead of starting over, I simply colored them with a 3D snow marker and they turned out great. The rest of the critters were colored with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.

My intention was to add a banner with the sentiment, but since it was quite large, I just stamped it directly onto the panel with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink. As a last touch, I added drops of Glossy Accents to the eyes, noses and beak of the critters.
