Hi there! Let’s begin the brief countdown to the release of the September “Starry Night” Card Kit, with a simple but eye catching card.
It’s easy to create this type of galaxy effect with the Night Sky Color Burst Trio watercolor powders, Ken Oliver Watercolor Paper and Starry Night – Vertical Die-namics. Here’s a picture of the Kit, so that you can see what else it includes:
- Starry Night Sentiments
- Starry Night Sentiments Die-namics
- Starry Night — Vertical Die-namics
- Night Sky Color Burst Trio
- Card Stock (8 sheets) — Smooth White (2 sheets), Field Day (2 sheets),
Blueberry (2 sheets), Grape Jelly (2 sheets), Ken Oliver Watercolor Paper (4 sheets)

I had a lot of fun playing with the watercolor powders and created a bunch of backgrounds for future cards. Once the paper was dry, I applied some Distress Glaze (to make the colors even brighter) and used the Starry Night — Vertical Die-namics to cut two panels out of it.

I then adhered them to an 8″ x 6 3/4″ (20,3cm x 17,1cm) white cardbase with some foam tape and wrapped silver colored string around the middle. It was the perfect spot to adhere the die cut sentiment, which I had previously embossed in silver on some vellum.

I also partially stamped and embossed the rest of the sentiment on two partially die cut strips from the Skinny Strips Die-namics set and popped them up on some foam tape.
Head on over to the MFT blog to find out more about the beautiful September “Starry Night” Card Kit, which will be released on Tuesday, September 17 (10 AM EDT), and to see some amazing projects by the rest of the DT.
