A new Color Challenge (CC131) starts on the MFT Blog today. I’ve created a very clean and simple zebra card, that I hope will inspire you to participate.
This combo is awesome, as it includes three of my favorite colors. I started by blending a background with the Grout Gray, Blu Raspberry and Sour Apple Premium Dye Inks + the Grassy Edges Stencil. Then I splattered it with water and, once it was dry, cut it into a 2″ x 5 1/2″ (5,1cm x 14cm) strip.
I adhered the strip to a 9″ x 5 1/2″ (22,8cm x 14cm) cardbase of Smooth White Card Stock in such a way that it was flushed to the 4″ x 5/16″ (10,2cm x 0,8cm) sentiment banner, which I diecut out of Wild Cherry Card Stock, using one of the dies from the Skinny Strips Die-namics. Next, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Smile Maker stamp set on it in white.
After that, it was time to stamp, diecut and color the zebra and butterfly from the Zippy Zebras stamp set. I colored them with Copic Markers using the following colors: C2, C00, R01 + R00 for the zebra, R37, R35 + C2 for the butterfly and R39, R37 + R35 for the scooter.
The last step was to adhere the two die cuts to the cardbase with some 3D Foam Squares. As you can see, you don’t need a complicated project to participate in our challenges… just let the colors inspire you to create anything. There’s more information and inspiration on the MFT Blog, so please head on there next. Catch you later!
