Hello again! The MFT January Release Countdown starts today and I’m celebrating Day 5 with a sweet box card filled with hugs.

Copic coloring of box card filled with hugs
It features one of the stamps from the adorable BB Hug it Out stamp set. I stamped it with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink on some Copic friendly card stock and colored it with the following markers:
Racoon: W7, W5, W3, W1
Squirrel: YR27, YR24, YR21
Bear: E37, E35, E33, E31
Owl: W5, W3, W1
Fox: YR69, YR27, W7, W1
Bunny: W3, W1, R00
Since most of my brown and gray markers are dry, I went in with my Prismacolor pencils to add the final touches and texture.

Then I die cut the stamp with the matching die and went to work on the box card. I used dies from the Outside the Box Die-namics and Summer Splash Card Stock for the structure. For the inside elements, I went with the new Outside the Box Grassy Hills Die-namics and Sour Apple Card Stock. I also splattered these with diluted Sour Apple Premium Dye Ink.

I decorated my box card with the XL word from the Sending You Hugs Die-namics and a pink banner, with a partially stamped sentiment from the BB Hug it Out stamp set.
Originally, I was going to decorate the background with clouds, but decided to use some speech bubbles die cut with the Love Speech Bubbles Die-namics out of Smooth White and Cotton Candy card stock, instead. As a last touch I added Glossy Accents to all of the critter noses. It really makes them come alive!

I like to include a picture of the box card inside of an envelope. This time I used a square one, simply because I ran out of the A2 ones. ^_^

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. Head on to the MFT Blog for more inspiration from the DT. Thank you for stopping by!
