Yay, it’s time for the MFT March Card Kit Release to go live and I’m back to share a slimline card with some fun beach cats.

We’ve been having such nice weather here on the Northwestern coast of Spain that I felt like creating a beach scene. I started by die cutting a panel out of Copic friendly card stock with the rectangular die from the Slimline Starter Die-namics. Next, I stamped images from the Housecats, Sunny Vibes and BB Mermazing sets with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink.

In order to use the Slimline Drifts & Hills Stencil to ink the sky with Caribbean Sea Premium Dye Ink, I had to mask the palmtree and two of the beach cats… or at least their heads.

It’s amazing how you can totally change the look of these kitties by adding small details like spots and shading. For example I easily turned the glasses into sunglasses just by coloring the lenses with some dark grey and red ink.

To achieve the sand texture I drew little dots with my Copic markers. I also used Prismacolor pencils for the final details. The any occasion sentiment is from the Sunny Vibes stamp set.

Once I was done with the coloring, I adhered the panel to an 8 1/4″ x 7″ card base of Prickly Pear Prestige Card Stock with a piece of fun foam. Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy shopping at the MFT Boutique!
