Card with fishbowl window for Vault Day 2

Card with fishbowl and realistic coloring for Day 2 of the MFT Vault Release Countdown.

Hello there! I’m so excited for the MFT May Vault Release Countdown, which begins today with Day 2! For the occasion, I created a card with the Fishbowl Die-namics and some realistic coloring, that I hope you’ll enjoy.

I decided to try something different, so I diecut a window in my 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ (13,35cm x 26,7cm) cardbase of Smooth White Card Stock and created the actual fishbowl scene on the inside of the card.

To ink blend the fishbowl, I diecut some stencils out of masking paper and used Blu Raspberry Premium Dye Ink for the water and Cement Gray Premium Dye Ink for the outline of the bowl.

Once I was done with the ink blending, I covered the window of my card base with acetate and the visible double sided tape on the inside of the card, with a sheet of patterned paper from the Woodgrain Whimsy Paper Pad. On the outside I simply stamped the sentiment from the You’re Fin-tastic stamp set in Extreme Black Hybrid Ink.

Next, I diecut the fishes out of Copic friendly cardstock and the rest of the elements out of Kraft, Jellybean Green and Sour Apple card stock. Then I used the following Copic markers to color them: E55, E53, G46, G43, G40, YR27, YR68, YR65, YR61, BG18, BG13, BG23, Y17, Y15 and Y13. I added the final details with Prismacolor pencils and a white gel pen.

I’m quite happy with the coloring, although I couldn’t find any good reference pictures online and had to wing it a little bit… But it was fun to get out of my comfort zone.

That’s all from me… I now invite you to head on to the MFT Blog to see what my amazing teammates have created with today’s Vault products. Stay tuned for more inspiration, tomorrow.
