We’re down to the last Day of the MFT February Release Countdown and I’m sharing a slimline card with the cute super heroes from the Super Friend stamp set.
It’s been a while since I made a card with an ink blended background so I grabbed my Distress Oxide Inks and went to work… For the sky I used my favorite sunset combo; Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber. After adding a layer of ink, I used the Slimline Cloud Edges Stencil to add a second layer. For the grass I used the Slimline Grassy Edges Stencil, Peeled Paint and Bundled Sage.
I set the ink with my heat gun and added some Distress Glaze to protect the background, before moving on to the super heroes. I stamped them with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink on Copic friendly card stock an colored them with the following markers;
- Cat: W5, W3, W1, B06, B04, B02, R39, R37, R35
- Lion: R39, R37, B06, B04, B02, Y17, Y15, E37, E35, E33, E31
- Koala: W10, W7, W5, W3, W1, R39, R37, R35
As always, I added the final details with my Prismacolor pencils.
Instead of using the matching dies, this time I fussy cut the animals which is something that I really enjoy. I popped them up with some thin foam squares and added Glossy Accents to their eyes and noses.
For the sentiment I partially stamped and heat embossed one of the messages from the Super Friend stamp set on a Black Licorice banner die cut with one of the dies from the Skinny Strips Die-namics. As a last touch I added a bunch of enamel stars. That’s it for today.
