Hi there! Today I’m sharing another interactive card tutorial on the MFT YouTube channel. This time I made a cheese shaped shadow box with a volvelle mechanism.
In case you missed my first shadow box, which I created for the February Release Countdown, you can check it out HERE. While I was making it, I thought about how easy it would be to add more interactive features to it. That’s exactly what I did for today. Before continuing, let’s watch my card in action:
It looks like there is a fun Birthday party going on inside the cheese! To make the transition from image to image smoother, I colored the background dark gray. I used the following Copic markers for the coloring;
- Background: W7, W5, W3
- Inside large mouse: W5, W3, W1, W00, BG13, BG11, BG10, R20, R00
- Outside mouse: W5, W3, W1, W00, R27, R24, R22, R20, R00
- Balloon: R27, R24, R22, R20
- Present: W3, W1, W00, BG13, BG11, BG10
- Inside small mouse: W5, W3, W1, W00, R27, R24, R22, R20, R00, BG13, Y17, Y15, Y13
I talk about all of the products that I used in the video, and you can see a gallery of all of them at the end of this post, so I won’t go into it too much detail over here… I’ll just mention that I used five different circle dies for this card!
For the sentiment, I went with a cute fishtail banner cut with one of the dies from the Mini Mail Die-namics out of Caribbean Sea Prestige Card Stock.
That’s it for today! I hope you enjoy my tutorial. If you do, please like and subscribe.
