Card with sleeping sloth for Day 4

Card with sloth for Day 4

Hello again! For Day 4 of the MFT December Release Countdown, I created an almost clean and simple card with a sleeping sloth.

I started by doing some simple ink blending with Distress Inks on Smooth White Card Stock. Once the ink was completely dry, I die cut a panel using the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics and the Sending you Hugs Die-namics (our new Free with $60 product).

Next, I adhered a piece of black fun foam (with Score-Tape) to the back of my panel. I also die cut the big letters out of foam (once) and the smaller letters out of Black Licorice Card Stock (three times).

Finally, I layered all of them and inserted them in their places to form a camouflaged sentiment. HERE you can see another card using the same technique. I also die cut a bunch of stars out of Silver Sine Card Stock and adhered them to the panel to finish my background.

Now I was ready to add the main character from the Slumbering Sloths set. The one that I chose was hanging from a branch, but I thought it would look cute hanging from the letters, so I made it happen with some partial stamping and fussy cutting.

I colored it with Copic markers and adhered it with thick foam squares. To finish the card, I added two speech bubbles die cut with the Love Speech Bubbles Die-namics. So that they would match, I colored the hearts with one of the markers that I used for the pajamas.

That’s it from me for today. I hope you visit the MFT Blog for more inspiration and featured products. I’ll be back tomorrow!
