Hello! I’m back to share a Birthday card that I made for my dad using some of the products from the amazing MFT August Release! The Countdown starts today so keep reading for more details!
It’s no secret that Birdie Brown (Torico) is my favorite illustrators ever… and she’s done it again with the adorable Old Friends stamp set! I was happily surprised to see that one of the male characters strongly resembles my dad, who is turning 78 years tomorrow!
He’s still in great shape and doesn’t need a cane, so I did some selective stamping to get rid of it and drew what was missing of his left arm with a fine tip black pen. You can see the partial stamping technique that I normally use, in my previous video tutorial.
After stamping and diecutting the image, I used the following Copic markers to color it; R01, YR000, E21, E11, W3, W1, W00, BG18, BG15, BG13, BG11, R39, R37, R35, C5, C4, C3, B97, B95 and B93.
My father loves colorful clothes and polka dots, so the patterned paper from the Happy Trails Paper Pad was perfect for the background. I adhered it to some Smooth White Card Stock and die cut it with the third largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangles STAX Set 1 Die-namics. Next, I glued this panel to an A2 top fold cardbase of Electric Red Card Stock.
I hope you enjoyed my card. Head on to the MFT Blog for more projects and more information about the August Release. Have a great day!
