¡Hola de nuevo! Estoy de vuelta para mostraros una tarjeta de cumpleaños con una dulce elefantita, que creé para el reto Color Challenge 163, en el blog de MFT.

I usually go for blue and green tones, so this week’s palette was a little bit of a challenge for me with the two pinks… However, getting out of one’s comfort zone is very healthy, so here I am with a very sweet and pink card.

I started by doing some ink blending with Princess Pink and Poppin’ Pink Premium Dye Ink on an A2 panel of Smooth White Card Stock. Next, I splattered water droplets as well as diluted ink all over the panel. Finally, I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist to give it a nice shimmer.

Once it was dry, I ran it through my die cutting machine with the second largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics and one of the dies from the Balloon STAX Die-namics. In order to get the faux stitching only on two of the sides, I had to do some partial die-cutting.

After heat embossing the sentiment on my panel, I moved on to the A2 top fold card base of Copic friendly card stock… I started by stamping the cute elephant from the BB Birthday Buds with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink. Then I covered it with masking paper and did some soft ink blending, first with the Grassy Edges Stencil and Prickly Pear Premium Dye Ink and then with the Micro Cloud Edges Stencil and Princess Pink Premium Dye Ink.

Next, I peeled off the mask and colored the cutie with the following Copic markers: C5, C3, C2, RV09, RV06, RV04, G94, R20, W1. I tried adding some realistic texture to her skin with colored pencils, but maybe I just made her look old…

As a final touch, I added stars die cut with the Star Pops Die-namics out of Poppin’ Pink Prestige and Gold Shine card stock, as well as some enamel stars. I hope my card has inspired you to join in the fun and possibly win a $50 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique. HERE’s another Birthday card created with the same image in case you want to check it out before you leave.
