Bright Birthday card for WSC475

Bright Birthday card with patterned papers for MFT.

Hello! I’m back with a bright Birthday card for the Weekly Sketch Challenge (WSC475) at the MFT Blog. Keep reading to find out more and join us for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique!

As always, I followed the sketch almost to a tee… and I say almost, because my panel measures 4 1/8″ x 5 3/4″ (10,5cm x 14,6cm) and to be more precise, it should have been 5 7/8 long.

I wanted to use the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics to cut my main panel. So, I adhered a sheet of yellow and white patterned paper from the Birthday Brights Paper Pack to a piece of Smooth White Card Stock, before running it through my die cutting machine. Next, I trimmed the lower edge with a craft knife.

Then I cut the second largest heart from the Stitched Heart STAX Die-namics out of white card stock and a blue and white design. My intention was that the Happy Birthday pattern would act as the sentiment, but I decided that it needed some letters, diecut with the Captions Alphabet Die-namics and Captions Numbers Die-namics, out of foam+cardstock.

Colorful and bright Birthday card.

The bright colored Birthday card would have been very boring without some flowers, diecut with the Freshly Picked Die-namics out of Smooth White, Sour Apple, Jellybean GreenRazzle Berry and Cotton Candy card stock.

Close up of sentiment for the bright Birthday card.

As a last touch, I added a blue enamel dot to the center of the white flower. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week’s sketch, for a chance at the voucher to the MFT Store.
